Works

Every project begins with listening, to people, place, culture, climate, and material. My work explores how thoughtful design can transform these relationships into spaces that are both deeply human and environmentally responsive.

ABOUT

Designing for people, place, and possibility.

Nicole Cherizé Kotze is a spatial designer and emerging architectural designer based in Tāmaki Makaurau, Aotearoa New Zealand.

Holding a Bachelor of Design in Spatial Design from Auckland University of Technology and currently completing a Diploma in Architecture, her practice explores the intersection of architecture, landscape, ecology, and human experience.

N.C.K's work is driven by a belief that meaningful architecture begins with listening, to people, to place, and to the stories embedded within both. Drawing on principles of mauri, kaitiakitanga, and regenerative design, she seeks to create spaces that enhance the vitality of their environments while fostering connection, belonging, and wellbeing.

Through research, experimentation, drawing, and making, N.C.K investigates how architecture can reveal the unique character of a place, honour its whakapapa, and create enduring relationships between people, culture, and the natural world.

N.C.K's aspiration is to design environments that are not only sustainable, but life-giving, where architecture supports the flourishing of both communities and ecosystems.
